One of the main influences in Marvin's artistic journey was his high school art teacher, Mr. Ken Hatcher. Mr. Hatcher said from the start that "Marvin Wise exhibits a discipline for his artwork." "Nobody can make an artist, it's something that is in you".

 

Marvin has painted pictures as gifts to Maya Angelo and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. He has also given his artwork to charitable organizations.
